As anyone will anxiety disorders will tell you, we can only too well recognise the onset of a panic attack.
You are in the car, behind the wheel, and the symptoms start. Usually it’s the palpitations first, with the heart going like the proverbial piston. Then the palms get sweaty, in fact within minutes you feel sweaty all over. And so it has started.
The first thought is about getting off the road and parking up somewhere in case things get real bad. But on a busy road, with traffic all around, even slowing down can be a dangerous thing to do.
My tips are not the usual ones of breathing deeply, winding the window down, thinking good thoughts etc. None of them are included in my three tips.
